Hi all,
I am an autocad user. I use autocad to design in 2D and 3D. Autocad is a great creation of autodesk that makes our imagination true. But mu problem is I use internet connection of low bandwidth. And when I use autocad it uses my internet connection to contact with autodesk. I know this will not do any harm to my computer but it consumes most of my bandwidth and while using autocad I can not access internet because of it. So I decided that I need to stop autocad from accessing internet. But I do not know the procedure. So if you guys have any solution then please help me in this matter.

Greetings Gary B Graham,

Here is what you need to do. I hope you are using Windows.

1. Press Win + R on your keyboard or go to Start -> Run or go to Start and type Run and press enter.

2. Once the Run function is opened type in regedit.

3. In Regedit navigate to the images below.

Windows Xp/VIsta

Windows 7

4. Double Click the InfoCenterON and type the Value 0 instead of 1.

5. Exit the Registry Editor and restart your PC just in case.

Hope this helps you,

If you want to block your AutoCAD application from connecting to the internet, one simple way to do it is from your Windows Firewall. When you block it from your firewall, it will be blocked from connecting to the internet. To block it from the firewall, click “Start,” “Control Panel,” “Security Center,” and then “Windows Firewall.” In “General” tab, make sure “On” is selected.

Go to “Exceptions” tab and click “Add Program.” Select your “AutoCAD” program on the next screen and click “OK” to add it to the exceptions list of the firewall. If the program is not listed, click “Browse” then navigate to the AutoCAD installation folder and select the main EXE file. In the Exceptions tab, you will see AutoCAD is checked automatically after adding it.

Now, uncheck AutoCAD then click “OK.” This will now block AutoCAD from connecting to the internet.
