How to set up sim town on Windows 7 ?

Hi Experts,

I am having windows 7 on m desktop and want to set up sim town on windows 7.I tried to install it using a CD but it failed.Can anyone tell me any other way to install it.Can I download the set up file of sim town from the internet.Thanks.

How to set up sim town on Windows 7 ?

Hi Jonathanchandler,

I understand you issue, I will provide a good solution that how can you install sim town in Windows 7.

Please follow these steps:

1. When you open simtown CD, you will found Win95 folder.
2. Open Win95 folder, then find SIMTOWN folder.
3. Open SIMTOWN folder, then find SIMTOWN application file.
4. Right click on simtown application and select properties
5. Inside properties find Computability, then select win 95 as compatibility view
6. Click apply and ok.
7. Then again open the Simtown application.
8. It will support in windows 7.

Download and unzip the file. Now backup the game and finally save. Copy the downloaded folder inside the free play folder inside the application directory. Now replace the document folder and you are finally done. Now you can play the simtown game on your windows 7 PC. You need to first install the game and then you need to follow these steps.

How to set up sim town on Windows 7 ?

Basically, installing “SimTown” on Windows 7 is not a problem. You can simply download it on your computer and copy it to a local folder but playing it is another thing. You see, SimTown is a very old DOS game published in 1995 by Maxis. Since it is a DOS game, you cannot play it out-of-the-box on your Windows 7.

You need a DOS emulator to run the game in DOS environment like DOSBox DOS Emulator. This DOS emulator requires at least Windows 9x or higher. If you already have a CD of SimTown, just copy the contents of the disc to an empty folder and run the game in DOSBox.

To play the game in DOS mode, you need to learn how to run commands in the DOS prompt or command prompt. If you need to download the game, visit SimTown on BestOldGames.net and download it.
