If this is the first time that this happens, try rebooting your computer then try it again. Check if it works after a restart. If still nothing happened and the Microsoft Office add-in you installed is still not functioning, try uninstalling it then install it back. See if this method has a good effect on your program. If this step also doesn’t have a positive effect on the program, check if the installed add-in is very much compatible with your present version of Microsoft Office package. An incompatible add-in will result to a not functioning application.

You may also try uninstalling the whole Microsoft Office package. This will also uninstall the add-in you previously installed. Restart your computer after this. After booting, check your computer for any possible errors. Use a disk utility application to check the system. Install Microsoft Office again followed by the add-in then see if this fixes the problem.
