Always use strong I.e; Use Upper and lower case, a special character like $%^& and numbers.Also make sure that it is unpronounceable.

To secure your Linked In id you can do the following.

Go to Settings- Account-Manage Security Settings and then click to use https when you're using Linkedin. To limit what people can see go to Profile and/or Account (on the same page) and use different settings until you find a combination you like.

The other area of "security" you might be referring to could be locking down your network so no one can see it. You can go settings and get that done as well.

Thank you for your question. There are Many Ways of security. Most have touched on the front door lock. When you log in, remember to log out When you leave your PC, or at Least lock down your PC with the CTRL-ALT DELETE option.

Some folks do mask Also Their email address. Say your email is "[email protected]". Could you put E0710velyn (at) yahoo (dot) com This prevents easy extraction year and you Will not get spam Quite so easily.

Also you should consider the password you select. History has Shown Many amongst others, That 12,345 is a favorite. Use Upper and lower case, a special character like " $% ^ &" and numbers. Also make sure that it is unpronounceable ..
You CAN secure your account by changing the password Every weekend. To change password follow this way-Click on settings (profile page, under your name in the upper right corner) and choose to change your password.

The idea is to have a way to contact you for potential connections. To make your profile do the following and more secure:
Go to Settings-Security Settings-Manage Account and THEN click to use https When You're using Linkedin.

To limit what people can see go to Profile and / or Account {(on the Same Page)}and play around with the settings until you find the combination you like.
