Hi Guys,Â
I just recently reformatted my pc and tried to install the divx plus software i downloaded,
But this is all I keep getting every time i ran the setup. I tried to download the offline installer that says in the box, but still it didn't give me luck.
I rebooted my pc once, but i encountered the same issue all over again.
Nothing resolved as same message showed up:
DivXÂ Plus Setup
DIVXÂ PLUS
for windows
A critical error has occurred, set up will now terminate.
Please download the offline installer here to try again.

You did not mention in your post where have you downloaded the DivX Plus For Windows installer. Because I also have a DivX Plus For Windows 8.0 and I downloaded it directly from DivX's own site and I'm using it 'till now.
If you downloaded that program from other websites, maybe that is why it encounters an error during the installation process.
Download the DivX Plus For Windows here: http://www.divx.com/.
You just recently formatted your hard drive and if your installer is really working, then there would be no problem why you cannot install the program.

You are getting that error because what you are trying to install is not a Divx player setup application, but instead it is an application that is meant to go online and download the Divx setup and install it on your computer. And therefore when you run the setup while you are not connected to the internet, then you will definitely get that problem. What you will need to do is the following:

Make sure that your computer is connected to the internet and then execute the Divx installer. It will go online and download the Divx player and install it on your computer.

Otherwise you will need to get the offline setup application for the Divx player as the error message suggests.

If your Divx software is not fully installed then firstly update your window after that again reinstall the software and run the setup it will install on your system successfully.
If you mention that which operating system you are using then i can send answer easily. First try to install with Administrator User. Means right click on the setup and select. ( Run as Administrator) .
Windows provides some editions for example, home edition, enterprise edition, ultimate edition. Starter edition.
Ultimate or enterprise supports all the software but the others edition not supported.
If the software wants of 64 bits and you to install 32 bit then the operating system will support you to install the required application.
