How to reset firefox 4?

I recently installed an add-on with my Firefox 4. Since then, Firefox 4 crashes. Sometimes,  it would freeze. I am forced to use Chrome ( don't get me wrong.  Chrome is nice.  It's just that  I'm a Firefox 4 fan :))

How to reset firefox 4?

Hi Jciconte!

What add-on did you install? is it one of those search toolbars? Those really cause problems and stability concerning with browsers, and not just FF4. Have you tried uninstalling the add-on yet from control panel?  You might want to do that first and then try to do a safe mode boot of FF4.

Here's how to boot into safe mode of FF4:

1. Launch FF4

2. Click on the FF button at the top left.

3. Go to help > restart with add-ons disabled

4. Click Ok

5. A window will appear with several options, in your case the best would be selecting: reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults + Restore default search engines

6. Finally, click on make changes and restart.

This should do it.  If it doesn't, let me know!
