hello there Tareq, in windows 7 you can lock hard drives using bit locker. just create a password for the bit locker. right click the drive that you want to put security, choose lock dive using bitlocker, then create a password, reboot your computer and it will solve your question. ^_^ also heres another way to lock a drive if you are using windows xp,

1) Go to run and type gpedit.msc.

2) Choose user configuration and go to administrative templates then on the right pane choose windows components.

3) On windows explorer choose "prevent access to drives of my computer. enable the restriction, and choose the drive you want to restrict. and reboot your pc. again your question is solve.

Locking a hard drive would probably mean either hiding it or password-protect it. If you want to hide a hard drive, you can do it with a drive partitioning software like Partition Magic or any other partitioning application. To hide a drive, you need to hide its partition. After this, the drive will no longer be visible on the computer.

You need to unhide it to be able to gain access again. If you don’t want to hide it, the other way is to password-protect it. For this, you can use StorageCrypt. The application allows you to password-protect a second hard drive, a USB flash drive, an external hard drive, and more.

StorageCrypt supports Windows 2000 32-bit only, Windows XP 32-bit only, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 including Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 both 32-bit and 64-bit. To encrypt a drive, if it is a second hard drive on your computer, close any open files on the drive first. Launch StorageCrypt then select the target drive from “Choose Disk Drive”.

Under “Encryption Mode”, select “Quick encryption”. Under “Portable Use”, select “Full”. This option makes the application portable. Enter the password twice and click “Encrypt” to lock the drive. For more information, go to StorageCrypt UserGuide.
