Hi, I cannot find user information anywhere.

Where I will get user and group information in Red Hat Linux?

How many files are responsible for user and group information.

Hi Yorath,

This is very important question, actually Red Hat Linux contain all system configuration files in /etc directory.

You can easily get your desired user information file from here; you can find four important files are responsible to keep users and groups information in RHEL system.

The most important file name is /etc/passwd.

All of the following files keep user and group information in RHEL system
/etc/passwd

/etc/shadow
/etc/group
/etc/gshadow
