Hey everyone,

I am posting here for the first time. I have to commit that I am desperate for help! I have got Intel Pentium (4) 1.8 GHz processor. My operating system is Windows XP.

I have got myself stuck in an issue while using MS FrontPage 2000. Here is the issue, whenever I try to open my webpage via FrontPage I get an error message as “The folder you are searching is not accessible.

Folder might be password protected or located on a volume which is not available.” This error appears only when I try to access my web with FrontPage, but I can access website via internet explorer etc.

I have checked that website is OK, and no other computer is having such a problem, and my PC is exclusively irritating me with this issue. But, I am unable to figure out this problem, To fix this issue, I've tried reinstalling FrontPage for almost five times but that doesn't work.

I also have checked my whole firewall settings, and they also seem to be fine. And yes, I have tried searched the support on Microsoft.com knowledge based and tried everything there.

Well, I am totally stumped and frustrated due to this issue and need some help.

I need to know How to get rid of “not available web” issue in MS FrontPage?

I would really appreciate any help.

Sorry for the late reply.

I suggest scanning your computer using a powerful antivirus before anything else.

Lots of viruses nowadays are displacing folders and files to different addresses.

This might be the cause why a certain folder cannot be accessed.

If you really tried everything on Microsoft.com, then maybe the problem is caused by your installer itself.

Contact the store where you bought the installer and have it replaced.

If your installer is completely genuine, then you can go straight to Microsoft Service Centers and have it replaced for free.

If you can't have a new copy for free, then I suggest buying a newer version of Microsoft FrontPage instead of buying the same.

And I also suggest buying from a store that is an Authorized Dealer.

Hope I helped! Vicky

Try upgrading the version of Microsoft FrontPage that you have. Maybe it is having some difficulty in accessing your webpage. Download Microsoft Office 2007 or Microsoft Office 2010 so you will have not only Microsoft FrontPage but the complete package as well.

Try also doing a disk check on your hard drive to see if there is a file structure error that prevents some applications from functioning properly.

  1. Right click on drive C and then select Properties.
  2. Click Tools tab.
  3. Click Check Now button.
  4. Check Automatically fix file system errors and then click Start.

If the disk check didn’t fix the problem, try closing some unnecessary programs in Windows Taskbar which are not needed. Maybe there is a program that clashes with Microsoft FrontPage that is preventing the latter application from functioning correctly.
