Error codes 0099 appears whenever you started downloading a program but did not finish it. so finish whatever download you have started to get rid of this error code. Of this does not work, do the following:
1.Hook your xbox 360 to your computer and use 360 browser or similar program, place the update folder in the correct place and then burn it to CD .
2. update the console via RGH

Are you by any chance getting the error code 0099 on your screen when using your Xbox online? If so, this code would mean that your console might have been tampered or modified. In this case, you can no longer use the said console for Xbox LIVE, install any software updates, or even play new games that need a console software update online. To remove the said error message you will have to disconnect your console online and play offline instead. But first you’ll have to turn off the automatic sign-in of your account. This is possible by doing the following:

  • Restart your console
  • If you are asked for updates select NO
  • Press the Guide button of your controller
  • Choose Settings
  • Select your Profile
  • Go to Sign-in Preferences
  • Set the Profile Auto Sign-in to OFF
  • Press on the B button of your controller to get back to the Dashboard screen
