Is it possible or is there a way that you can disable the keyboard functionality in WINDOWS 7 without actually disconnecting the wire connected to the system unit? If yes, then how can I do it?

Please help.

Yes, it is possible to disable the keyboard in Windows 7 without removing it wire connected to the system unit.
Just download the "Keyboard Locker" application. It is a small program that does this job well.

When you open Keyboard Locker, you’ll see a small keyboard icon appear in your system tray.Keyboard Icon

To lock the keyboard, press Ctrl+Alt+L.

Keyboard Locked
The icon in the system tray changes to indicate that the keyboard is locked.
Almost all keyboard input is now disabled, including most special keys on media keyboards and caps and NUM locks. There are a few key combinations that will still work, such as Ctrl+Alt+Delete and Win+L to lock your computer, but those are extremely unlikely for a paw or tiny hand to hit.
When you want to re-enable keyboard input, simply type in the word “unlock.”

Actually, you can uninstall keyboard in Device Manager.

Click right mouse button on Computer, choose last option “Properties”, and from the left panel select “Device Manager”.

Click twice on Keyboards, and it will open subsections. Right click on all items under the Keyboards section (if more than one like on below picture) and choose “uninstall”. When prompted, click OK button.

You can always restore your keyboard functionality. Just in Device Manager go to “Action”, click “Scan for hardware changes” (like on below picture), and Windows will automatically install the drivers for the keyboard.
