Yes, you can do scanning from your Canon printer to your computer. To scan a document, you need first to install the MP Navigator EX software from the cd that you got with your printer. If you did not get the disc, you could get the software from the Canon website.
Following the above, you need to go to Start => Programs => Canon Utilities => MP Navigator EX => MP Navigator EX.
Here select the photos or documents you wish to scan. Open the cover of the scanner and place your document on the glass, set your preferences and click scan when ready. You can save your scanned document in a format of your choice.
