Hi!

I am having problems with my HP monitor. I just bought this recently and now I can see diagonal lines going up and down in my monitor. I am irritated and always distracted with this phenomena. What could be causing this? I never installed any new devices. Can you provide me step-by-step resolution for this problem? What are the proper way to resolve this problem properly? Is the problem coming from my monitor or from my video card? Do I need to replace my video card also? Please help me. Thank you very much and have a nice day!

Happy to support you!
Actually, this issue requires some troubleshooting.
  • First of all, check whether the overdrive is enabled.

    • If yes, disable it by going to catalyst control & unchecking the check box by the overdrive.
    • If no, switch off the computer and unplug all the devices. Then, press hold the power button (on system unit) for 15 or 20. Reconnect the devices and check if the issue is solved.
  • Also, it can be due to a problem in Windows setting, such as regarding the refresh rate. So, do the following,

    • Right-click on the Desktop  >select “Screen Resolution” > Click on “Advanced Settings” > Monitor > Now, lower the refresh rate to see if the lines disappear.

If the previous steps prove to be unsuccessful, unplug the monitor. If the “no signal” message also comes with the lines, it is clear that the problem is in the monitor. So, select “Menu” button on the screen, select the “other” option, go to “Factory Settings” mode & reset the monitor to original settings. If the issue still persists, it can’t be fixed & needs a replace.
