Having trouble with java script on a cruz tablet

I have a T301 Cruz Tablet that has 800 MHz processor and 512 RAM.

Why is the browser always crashing when I use the Google widget?

Do I need to update the firmware or is there a patch for this?

Need help with Google JavaScript on a Cruz Tablet.

Thanks.

Hello there,

It seems to be that you are using an old tablet… unfortunately there are no further updates on the firmware for that matter.

The best solution there is, to buy newer tablet to support current updates.

There are also some other workarounds for your problem.

You could try disabling the JavaScript, but it may subtly reduce the functionality of other websites.

Here are the steps:

  • Disable WiFi
  • Launch the Browser
  • Select Menu > More > Settings > uncheck Enable JavaScript
  • Enable WiFi
  • Go back to the Browser and tap Menu > Refresh to load into Google
  • You can also use other browsers. You might want to do this if it doesn't crash.
  • Disable WiFi
  • Launch the Browser
  • Select Menu > More > Settings > scroll down a little and tap on Set home page > type in msn.com
  • (or any search engine address other than google.com) > OK
  • Scroll down to Set search engine > selects Yahoo! or Bing
  • (affects in-browser searches, has no affect the Google search widget)
  • Enable WiFi
  • Go back to the Browser and tap Menu > Bookmarks > select a bookmark other than Google

Hope that helps.
