In my Droid HTC Incredible, some 'glitched' messages keep popping up every time I received a new message and showing incorrect number of received messages on the notifications tab.
Now when I click to view the message, it is not appearing in the actual messaging thread with that related person.
How to get rid of this problem please?
I think that your software of the mobile phone has been corrupted somehow and that you need to reinstall it or factory restore it or update it.

When you connect it with your computer or go to ABOUT PHONE option in the settings, there you can see the update option which you can use to update the phone.
There is no other way that this problem can be solved as it’s an ambiguous problem and it can only be resolved by doing the above mentioned steps.
If you are having problems with your phone, try factory resetting it from Recovery Mode. With the phone completely off, press and hold the Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons simultaneously until the logo appears. When the logo appears, release the Power button but continue holding the other keys. When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release all buttons. To navigate between the options, press the Volume Up/Down buttons.
To select or Enter, press the Power button. Now, press Volume Down and go to “wipe data/factory reset” then press the Power button to select. Next, press Volume Down and go to “Yes — delete all user data” then press the Power button to select. Android will begin clearing your phone’s data so just wait. When it is finished, go to “reboot system now” and press Power.
Note: before doing this, back up your phone’s data to your memory card then remove the memory card and SIM card from the device.
