So I was having some fun multiplayer games windows LAN connected at home. My friends brought in their PCs here. Now, it just doesn't work. We have tried it before and it was fine. Now it's just not working. Help us!

Is there any pop up error message during the time you connected the two computers?
If there still problems in LAN connection. You can try this:
Turn off your windows firewall or change your IP address to obtain mode rather than using your default IP address.

Most multiplayer games are updated frequently. I advise you to go to official web page of game you are playing and compare their version of game with yours. If they are not the same then you and your friends should update game to newer version. That way your game will work again over LAN.

The first thing you have to do is check your Firewall and unblock all aspects related to your game. If that doesn’t work, try restarting all of the computers because they tend to hold errors sometimes.
If you are using a hub, unplug and replug the adaptor. Do the same thing if you are using your router.
I suggest you turning your Pc into a hotspot. It is very easy to use and the connection tends to be more stable.
These are the steps to do so:
1) Disconnect from any network
2) Go to Network and Sharing Center (from the Control Panel)
3) Click on Set up a new connection or network
4) Choose “create a new ad hoc wireless network”
5) Set a password (optional)
6) Save the network
7) Connect to your new network and so does everyone else.
8) Access your desired game and enjoy !
