Hi,

I have installed HP quick launch buttons on my laptop.

However, the Fn Keys on the laptop is not working with operating system Microsoft Vista.

What could be the main issue here?

I have no clue.

Any idea on how to solve this will be appreciated.

Hello Isabellartd,

1. About 70% of these situations arise because of the problems with the drivers.  Re-Installation of the related drivers will help. Given that your machine's brand is HP, you can download any driver you want from shopping site of HP. Just clearly state your model, operating system installed etc before downloading the drivers. This may work.

2. If the first method doesn't work, try re-installing a clean version of Microsoft Vista and repeat the first method.

Sometimes, BIOS version is the reason for this situation. Check whether your BIOS version is out-dated.

Hope you'll get some idea about the issue.

Hello Mr. Isabellartd.

There might be two problems.

1. Have you pressed the Numlock key? You have to press the Numlock key to use Fn. Hold the key and then your fn keys will start working.

2. You will see some red/blue keys. Look for them and you can use it now.

Thank you for your question.
