Hi,

I am using Windows XP operating system. Its a 32-bit operating system with @GB RAM and 80GB hard drive. I installed an antivirus software named Soft, not sure where I downloaded it from.

However I suspect it to be causing security concern so I wanted to remove it.

However while uninstaling the software I get the below mentioned error.

File Modification Error
Local Disc C:is not accessible. Make sure the hard drive is installed and connected correctly.
Kindly help me get rid of this disease.

That "soft" antivirus that you installed is adware.
You need to remove it from your system before it causes further damage.

It will not allow you to uninstall it and will also restrict other actions as long it is active in there.
Once that is done, you can uninstall it and reboot your system. I recommend scanning for adware/malware

I recommend this software for spyware/adware removal.

Download and Install.

Hello Anthony,

You might have installed an application that has got malware infections in it and as a result getting those issues. To resolve the issue you will need to go the following:

  • Restart the computer and then go to the control panel and then try uninstalling the application from there.
  • If it refuses again, go to C:Program Files on your computer and locate a folder named Soft and then delete it and all its contents.
  • After that you can go back to the control panel and try uninstalling it from there.
  • After that get a known antivirus from a trusted site and install it on your computer.

Regards,

Carl
