I was trying to compress one of my folders. I am currently using Windows 7 on my computer. While compressing, I encountered the following error – “Windows cannot complete the extraction” “the compressed zipped folder” “is invalid.“Please help me to solve this error.

Since you are trying to extract a compressed folder contained in a ZIP file, make sure the file is not corrupt. One of the reasons why a ZIP file or a compressed file cannot be unpacked is data corruption. If your ZIP file is corrupt, data cannot be extracted. Since I suspect data corruption is behind the failed extraction, try repairing the ZIP file with WinRAR.

Go to WinRAR Archiver and download the latest. WinRAR features an ability to repair broken archives but I don’t guarantee that the file can be fixed 100 percent because the last time I used it resulted to nothing. Try repairing your ZIP file using WinRAR and see if it can fix it.

In case the repair fails, if the ZIP file is a download from another website, just try downloading it again and make sure you download it completely. On the other hand, if you want a file compressor with the highest compression ratio, try using 7-Zip.
