I saved a template in Microsoft Word 2003 and had been using it for the past few months. When I tried to open the template a few weeks ago, I got the message “Windows cannot start mswrd632 converter,” and the text changed into tiny squares. This also happened to a document that had a big table of information in it. I have a dozen other documents this problem hasn't happened to.
Can anybody lend a hand?
Error When Opening Saved Word Documents

Hi,
Actually you are getting this error because you are still using 2003 version of the office, OR maybe the template is still in 2003 version if you are using 2007 or 2010 version of MS Office.
Microsoft released an update in 2009 for office 2003, which created this issue in some systems.
You can follow these steps to resolve:
Unregister the mswrd632 converter by editing the registry.
1- Go to start > Run and type “regedit” (without quotation )> press enter
2- Navigate to the following registry sub key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftShared ToolsText ConvertersImportMSWord6.wpc
3- Highlight the key, and write click and press delete
4- Click yes and then click exit
Please note, if you are using X64 systems the path of the registry key will be:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareWow6432NodeMicrosoftWindows CurrentVersionAppletsWordpad
The above procedure will disable the converter and will now office to use its own text converter to open these files.
Regards,
PT
