I am currently using Windows 7. I was earlier using Tally 7 for my business related work. I have now upgraded to Tally 9. I am now trying to migrate all my data to this new version. But while doing so the following error occurs – Migration is unable to reach Tally server. Please help.

Make sure you do not have any system file broken or missing on your computer. Now, check your disk drives for errors. Open the command prompt in administrator mode. Type the command ‘sfc /scannow’ and then press enter.

  1. Your system must have at least 500MB of free RAM so that Tally can migrate its data. Please make sure you have enough space available. You can create extra free space by closing all other concurrent tasks from the task manager.
  2. From the directory of Tally, open the file named ‘tally.ini.’ Search the option ‘default companies’ and set it as ‘no.’ Save this file and begin your migration. This should work.
