From a program I make a calendar arrangement detail (ics file) and throw it to email receiver. This has been running very well with Outlook 2003 clients on the other hand Outlook 2007 clients are facing difficulty. They obtain it as an attachment with the heading:

Not supported calendar message.ics

Is there an answer to this like for SP or hotfix?

Hello Wayne,

There is a hotfix in the Outlook 2007 service pack 1 and 2 for this issue. Please make sure that you update your Outlook 2007 with one of this two service packs.

You can download them for free if you go to the official Microsoft website.

After you have updated Outlook successfully you have to add this registry:

  1. Click the Start button and then go to Run.
  2. Type regedit and click the OK button.
  3. Please click on the following subkeys in your registry:
  4. HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice12.0OutlookOptionsCalendar
  5. Go to Edit menu and hit New. After this please click the DWORD Value.
  6. You now have to type: ExtractOrganizedMeetings and press enter.
  7.  On the Edit menu please hit the Modify button.
  8.  Put the value 1 in and hit the OK button.
  9.  Exit Registry Editor

The issue should now be resolved and your client should be able to see the calendar arrangement.

Regards.
