Normally, when starting my Norton 2010, I just double-click on its icon on my desktop. But today, I was clicking on it for over ten times and yet it doesn’t open or show anything. When I tried to uninstall and re-install it again.

I received an “Error 8504, 106” on starting it again.

What should I do with it?

Solution 1:

Try to turn off/on your user account control panel.

3. In the slider, click to “never notify”, OK.

4. Exit, then restart PC.

Run Liveupdate with your Norton antivirus program, wait until it finished updating the program.

Then turn the user account program, follow steps 1-2 above, then on step 3 click slider to default. click OK, Then restart PC.

Try running the program again.

Solution 2:

Perform Checkdisk and check PC for possible disk errors. Open my computer, right click drive C, proprieties> tools > scan now > Check automatically fix for error redstart the computer and run LiveUpdate first.

If the same problem occurred, find ccsvchst.exe file from C:Program FilesNorton 3605.x.x.x folder.

If the problem persists, find ccsvchst.exe file from Norton Antivirus folder at C:Program FilesNortonx.x.x folder and then look for this file.

Once seen right click on it, then select properties > Compatibility tab, please check Run as administrator. And then restart your computer. Afterwards run the program to test if problem exists.
