Whenever I launched Corel Painter 11 on my Mac OS X Leopard, an error will appear. The same error I've got when I tried to reinstall the program since I am having issues on it. I don't know the workarounds for this issue since I already reinstalled and it still throws the same error message. Please help.

The error I've got:

Corel Painter

Error: 18 – Corel Painter has encountered a problem. Please reinstall from the original source.

If we’re going to associate the error with compatibility, it doesn’t fit because Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is officially supported. For Mac users, the application Corel Painter 11 supports Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. For Windows users, the application supports Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Try updating your operating system to see if installing the latest update will fix the problem. Click on the Apple menu on your desktop and select Software Update. Install all the available updates and restart your computer. Next, try running Corel Painter 11 to see if the update fixes the problem. If it doesn’t then you have encountered the bug.

This bug has already reached Corel and they are working on getting the problem fixed. Fortunately, there is a temporary solution to work around the problem. Open your hard drive and go to Applications then Corel Painter 11. Select Corel Painter 11 and then press CMD + I to open Get Info window. After that, enable “Open using Rosetta” and then run Corel Painter 11.

In case you don’t have the Rosetta software on your computer, it will prompt you to install it. Just follow and install it. When you see the Trial screen, select to activate now and then enter the serial number. Exit Corel Painter 11.
