Enlightenment Desktop on Ubuntu Linux

qa-featured

Hi there Alan Farrer,

Enlightenment Desktop is a desktop manager that gives artistic and interesting effects in it (without burden in the system).

Enlightenment Desktop also provides options to suit the user's computer capabilities. Before getting into the operating system, users will be given the option to look of the desktop. Will be presented starting from the simplest to a more interesting (with the hardware that is not too heavy).

The libraries behind Enlightenment are referred to as EFL (Enlightenment Foundation Libraries) collectively, each with a specific name and purpose.

Enlightenment and EFL support several platforms, though Linux is the primary platform of choice for our developers, some make efforts to make things work on FreeBSD and other BSD’s, Solaris, MacOS X, Windows (XP, Vista, 7 etc.), Windows CE and more.

You can use Enlightenment on any ubuntu version or Ubuntu-Based Distribution.

To install Enlightenment on your Ubuntu follow these step below :

1. Run your Ubuntu and log on as root user

2. Launch terminal and add the PPA Enlightenment on your Ubuntu with the following command

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:hannes-janetzek/enlightenment-svn
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install e17

Make sure you are connected to the internet when you add the PPA Enlightenment

3. When the process finish, log out from your Ubuntu and select Enlightenment session to log in.
