Dvd rom always ejected with out any further actions

Hi,

This was the picture taken, when my laptop was creating unnecessary behavior.

My 3 year old, HP dual core laptop computer is starting to make a malfunction. As you have observed on the picture the CD cannot be inserted, plus the ROM always ejects, even when I don't eject it.

Before I  consult a technician, can you please tell me why my DVD ROM is acting so strangely? Is there any way to fix that one? Or will I need to replace the DVD ROM? Or the laptop itself?

I need an advice guys. Help.

Thanks

Hello Bryantst,

Your problem may have several reasons. Like your DVD ROM may have got some errors, because it is already three years old. Virus program can do this. So there are lots of chances available. I am describing all of them.

  1. It may have a mechanical problem such as; the eject button is malfunctioning. When you put a CD/DVD, it vibrates and may activate the eject button.
  2. When CD/DVD starts rotating, it starts to vibrate. A faulty latch can open the tray due to the vibration.
  3. Virus can do this also. You may have some virus on your laptop and this virus program may be ejecting the DVD tray time to time.

Anything can be possible and from here without properly investigating the ROM, we cannot tell you the right solution. So it is my advice that you take your laptop to a technician. He will diagnosis your laptop and give you the right solution.

Hello Bryantst,

If it is a virus scan the system it will be easily caught as it very old fashioned virus you can say. Commonly it is named as global.exe.

Also check your cd-ROM I think it needs to take shower.. Just kidding man. Every cd-ROM lens needs to be cleaned after such three years hard work, it just like we say age factor in old people. Don’t try to clean lens by yourself, its really sensitive. Put it back, install properly through add remove hardware and just rock.

Regards.
