Do I have to add a program to autoplay XP?

I wonder if I have to add a program to auto play XP. I have an old CPU and I want to upgrade my Windows XP Service Pack 1 with Service Pack 3 (SP3). However it doesn't seem to auto play. I wonder if it's possible to add files or programs on the installer or do something else to make it work.

Please help me solve this issue.

Follow the following steps:

  1. Open any text editing tool e.g. notepad.
  2. Create an Autorun.inf file that Windows automatically looks for when a CD is placed into your system. Type the following into Notepad:
    [autorun]
    open=Filename.exe
    icon=Filename.ico.
  3. Replace Filename.exe with the windows XP installation setup, and the icon with an icon(.ico) of your choice. Save the file under All Files, not as a txt. Name the file Autorun.inf and save it in the folder with XP installation files. All the .exe and the .ico files must be there too.
  4. Burn the Cd using a cd burner. Some burning software have the option of burning an autorun cd and making it bootable. You can enable the option too.
