Digital phones vs. IP phones is often asked question. Digital phones convert an analog signal into a digital or binary signal which contains 0's and 1's. It is known as an encoded message.
This encoded signal is then sent to the receiver and message is decoded as sound. IP phones use IP protocol as well as MAC address. It transfers packets of information from the sender to receiver. These packets of information are then arranged accordingly to the order they are sent. Digital phones are more power efficient, consume less power, does not require bandwidth, doesn't utilize the internet and has no mobility as compared to IP phones.
