Difference between analysis value of Flow work and Theoretical Value

Dear All,

Recetly, We do the modelling of pressure drop of a flow through a porous media in the pipe.  At the time of verification of test results,we found that there is some difference between the  results given by software with the theoratical value (determined by Darcy's law).

We do not understand the reason behind this error.

Can anyone help us to find out the reason?

Thanks in advance for your kind help

With best regards,

Kelin Martin

Hi Kelin Martin,

You’re question is quite broad so I cannot promise I can give you the exact answer for your question. May I know what software you are using to calculate the Porosity/Average Velocity of the medium?

When it comes to software calculation, most of them are quite limited in terms of the number of significant digits, constants value used or the margin of error. There should be some settings perhaps where you can adjust that or you may try to use Google to search how can you maximize or correct that error of that software by changing some settings or doing some tweaks.

Please let me know if you have some questions.

Regards,
