Device Manager Error Code 28

I just bought a new webcam from a local store and went on to install it and get it set up on my computer as soon as i arrived home.

However, I'm getting this error in the Device Manager and my webcam doesn't work.

Anything i may have missed?

Device Manager Error Code 28

This error that you are having with your newly bought webcam is caused by its driver not being installed. There is no driver installed for your new webcam that is why the device manager was unable to recognize the device. All webcams come with its own installer so it can be installed in your computer. Without the driver the hardware is totally useless and can’t be used by Windows. Load the installer CD that comes with the package in the CD/DVD-ROM drive and it will be automatically launched by Windows and just follow the instructions that will be displayed.

If your webcam doesn’t come with any installer disc, you may need to return it to the store to ask for its driver or a replacement and be sure this time its installer CD is included in the package or you can search the web for its driver using the webcam’s brand and model number as the search query.

Device Manager Error Code 28

Hi Lucas,

This means the device driver for the webcam is not installed. You can fix this by using the following process:

– First ensure that you are connected to the internet.

– Go to my computer, and right click.

– Click on properties .

– In the message box that will come up, choose hardware, then click on device manager.

– From a list of drivers that will be displayed, locate the webcam driver, right click on it and choose update this driver.

– Choose the option to update the driver online.

– Wait for the process to finish.

This should help you successfully install the webcam drivers.
