The solution to this problem is turning off your firewall. If you are using a third party firewall, turn it off in their respective settings, or else if you are using the default windows firewall go to controls panel and then windows firewall and turn it off there. Click apply and then try installing the updates again. It should work this time. This is the solution to the problem mentioned above.

If you receive error “800b0100” when installing a Windows Update, try using the System Update Readiness Tool. Go to Fix Windows Update Errors with DISM or try downloading one of the following if you have Windows Vista or Windows 7:

After installing the System Update Readiness tool, restart your computer and install the Windows Update again. If you have Windows 8.x or Windows 10, click “Start” then in the search box type without quotes “command prompt” and then right-click command prompt in the result and select “Run as administrator.” If you are prompted, enter your password or click “Allow” to continue.

In the command prompt, type without quotes “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” then hit Enter. When it is finished, type without quotes “sfc /scannow” then hit Enter. When it is finished, exit the command prompt and try installing the Windows Update again.
