Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC)

Hi,

I am getting the following error cyclic redundancy check when I try to back up onto my external hard drive. I have become very frustrated to fix it by many other ways including searching. I could not solve this problem so I need your assistance with full solution. What is the cause? How can I remove this error? Any idea would be appreciated.

This application has encountered a critical error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check). Program:program fileswarcraft iiwr3.exe File: War3X.mpq Press OK to terminate the application.

Data Error Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC)

To fix this problem you have to follow these steps:

1> Run CMD as an Administrator of the computer

2> Type in the command prompt window: chkdsk D: /f /r  -change D with affected drive

3> In the same command prompt window you have to use the DiskPart utility  typing DiskPart

Then the problem is resolved and you can explore your hard drive.
