Hello to all,

I am facing a problem of VPN users to login to the office network.

Actually the problem is that the VPN user is unable to login to the Microsoft Lync server. When i try to log in, it simply shows me the message shown below:

Lync

Cannot sign in to Lync

There was a problem verifying the certificate from the
server.

I am currently using the Microsoft Forefront 2010 TMG. I have some doubts regarding this. I infer that the Microsoft Forefront TMG 2010 is blocking this connection with the Lync server. I might be wrong. I need your help in this regard.

Has anybody of you been facing such an issue?

Please do respond to my query.

Waiting for your replies.

Regards,

Tom

Hi,

I think you are facing this problem because of some error in the certificate. Have you placed the certificate in the correct location?

The certificate needs to be in the trusted list so that it can be verified. Also the client should have access to Lync online. Check whether the user is licensed to use lync.

You have to issue a certificate to the Lync server from CA. Make sure to be using only this certificate and nothing else. Do not use the wizard which asks you to create the certificate. This will cause many errors. So make sure you issue a certificate to the Lync server from CA and use it.

Your certificate should be like the one in the screenshot below:

Also check the validity of the certificate.
