Yes, it is really recommended that you update the BIOS of your computer, in your case your laptop. But make sure the BIOS update you will be downloading and installing really came from your computer’s official website and don’t ever attempt of getting the BIOS update from other sources because you might end up damaging the configuration of your computer.

Installing the BIOS update improves the performance and functionality of your system especially for the devices installed on the board. Like in my case, when my old Dell computer was bought, it was first running on 1.8 GHz Pentium 4 processor still with the original BIOS intact and not updated. When I decided to replace its processor with 3.06 GHz Pentium 4 with Hyper Threading, it did work faster but the same screen appears each time the BIOS starts.

But when I managed to download the BIOS update from the Dell official website, there is a change in the BIOS screen during startup. It now displays the correct processor information during startup unlike before it doesn’t display whether the processor is capable of Hyper Threading or not. Installing the BIOS update will also fix previous bugs that you don’t know are present on your board.
