Computers on ADSL modem share IP addresses?

I have an ADSL modem that I use with my friend at home. I have noticed that when I block my IP address from accessing a certain website, he will also not be able to access it. The same happens when he blocks a website. Why is this? Can we have two different IP addresses to access the internet independently but using the same modem?

Yes, you can access the internet independently using the same modem. You should use a vpn server or proxy server. But the best vpn server is IP vanish. But this server is a premium. If you want a free vpn server so you can use private tunnel vpn or hotspot shield. its totally free. So you download any software and install and connect and use unblock IP. Now you use unblock IP your same modem.
