Compaq Laptop SMART Test Error

Hello! I just bought a new Compaq Presario CQ62 laptop. When I checked all the tests they are 100% ok except for the SMART test. I always receive this error message that says, Smart (301). Do you think there is a problem with my hard drive? Thank you!

Hello there,

       Well the error itself indicates that there is a problem somewhere with your hard disc and that you should check all your drives to make sure that they are functioning well.

Well I would suggest you to run the Hard Drive Diagnostic test on all the drives and see if there' s a problem and kindly run this periodically in order to avoid hard disc failure.

Hi,

The error you encountered (error 301) surely indicates that your hard drive is failing and might need replacement. The first thing that you should do right now is to backup your files before the hard drive eventually fail.

I am sure that the hard drive is still under warranty because you just bought it. It is better if you go to the authorized technician right now while it is still under warranty and working. Let them diagnosed the problem so they can changed or fix the hard drive.
