Hello,

I have a problem with the installation of Critix SmartAuditor server. This is the final part of the 3 phase installation process, and all I'm getting is the following error message:

“Citrix SmartAuditor Agent Setup, Updating system, The features you selected are currently being installed. Removing backup file… Time remaining: 1 seconds, Installer Information, Error 1001. An exception occurred during the Commit phase of the installation.

This exception will be ignored and installation will continue. However, the application, the application might not function correctly after installation is complete….> Cannot start service CitrixAudAgent on computer….> The service did not respond t the start or control request in a timely fashion. Ok”

Error 1001. An exception occurred during the Commit phase of the installation. This exception will be ignored and installation will continue. However, the application might not function correctly after installation is complete.–> Cannot start service CitrixSmAudAgent on computer'.'. –> The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

OK

If I go with the Ok button I’m just back at the beginning. Did anyone encounter this problem during the installation?

Thanks very much for the support.

The SmartAuditor Administration install checks that all prerequisites are met before it lets you actually install the software. Even though SQL 2008 Express was installed and running, the SmartAuditor install kept telling you that SQL was not present and it would not let you continue the installation.

Using process monitor, you will able to see that the install program was checking for SQL by querying the registry key, HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesMSSQLServerADHelper. Whatever, with SQL 2008 Express, that key did not exist but instead there would be a key called HKLMSYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesMSSQLServerADHelper100.

Since the names are different, if the install kept failing! Not wanting to give up, Exported the MSSQLServerADHelper100 key, edited the key name to MSSQLServerADHelper and then imported it back into the registry. If still no progress, then please running it out of time so uninstalled 2008 Express, installed 2005 Express and it would have no further problems with the SmartAuditor install.

Since you are installing Citrix SmartAuditor Agent, make sure it is compatible with your computer and you’ve already installed all prerequisite components prior to installing the agent. Citrix SmartAuditor Agent supports Windows Server 2008 R2. Before installing Citrix SmartAuditor Agent, the following must be present on your machine:

  • * XenApp 6 for Windows Server 2008 R2 Platinum edition server
  • * Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
  • * Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) – MSMQ HTTP support must be enabled, Active Directory integration must be disabled.

These component software must be present on your computer before you install Citrix SmartAuditor Agent otherwise you might end up with an error during installation. If all components have been installed prior to installing Citrix SmartAuditor Agent but you are still getting an error during installation, try running the installer with an elevated privilege. Right-click on the Citrix SmartAuditor Agent installer and select “Run as administrator”.

This will run the installer with full permission. You can download .NET Framework 3.5 from Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.
