Google Chrome has its own Flash Plugin and needs no external plug-in. If you install another one externally, it causes the confusion and hence crashes. So, you can disable the internal Flash Plugin. Get to the Plugins page of the Chrome and click the Details. Find the Shockwave Flash Plugin and disable the installed file. In the end, restart the browser to apply the changes. Thus, the browser is now error free.

I agree. Google Chrome is one of the fastest browsers to work with especially on Flash-based content. If your browser sometimes crashes due to Adobe Shockwave, just try updating the Adobe Shockwave Player on your computer or download it if you don’t have it yet. Download the latest Adobe Shockwave Player and update your existing version.

This is the web installer of the Shockwave Player from the Adobe website. If you want the standalone installer, download from FileHippo: Adobe Shockwave Player. Note: download and install Adobe Shockwave Player only if your browser requires it. Don’t install it if you rarely visit websites that use the Shockwave Player plug-in for security reasons. Adobe Shockwave Player is the web standard for robust multimedia playback.

It is formerly called “Macromedia Shockwave Player.” It allows you to view interactive web content such as games, entertainment, advertisements, and business presentations created with Adobe Director. The plug-in was originally developed by Macromedia released in 1995 and in 2005 was acquired by Adobe Systems.
