Challenges with my Hewlett Packard pavilion dv6

I have been experiencing some challenges with my Hewlett Packard pavilion dv6 and therefore I made a decision to re-install it. Well the process went on smoothly but as soon as the process was being completed the system installation process came to a stop and remained in that state for several hours; though it seemed like the installation process was still underway. So this prompted me to initiate a backup of all my pictures, documents and files with the hope that this initiative continues so that I can perform a full recovery of my system. I am welcoming any suggestions on how I can go about it and the reason why the installation process won’t be completed.

The installation process was most likely halted because your system froze. This could be caused by an error during the formatting process, defective hard drive, defective installation media or it could have just been one of those times when a Windows installation freezes for no apparent reason to the user. Just make sure you have your files backed up and try the process again. If the problem happens again, make sure your installation media is clean. Try another installation media (I believe you can request for one from HP) then see if it works better. It's also likely that the data that was copied from the installation media was corrupted and faulty.
