Sea monkey 1.1.18 and 2.0.14 on the same computer

I have Sea monkey which is currently running in my system.

It is sea monkey 1.1.18 and I have tried to upgrade it by trying to fix up version 2 but unfortunately, the system requires me to delete version 1.1.18 first and then replace it with version 2.

The only other option left for me is to download sea monkey 2 on a compact disc from which I can operate it on my computer or rather get a compact disc already containing it which I can then use straight away.

Well I am sure most of you will tell me that this cannot happen but for sure I would like to be informed whether it is indeed possible to have sea monkey 1.1.18 and 2.0.14 on the same computer and whether the two can work concurrently.

Hello Mavis,

If you can't upgrade SeaMonkey 1.1.18,  don't just delete it. You should uninstall the current version that you are using.

Just go to Control Panel, select add remove programs and remove or uninstall SeaMonkey 1.1.18.

Then you can now download the latest version which is SeaMonkey 2.0.

I hope it helps. Make sure that the version that you are going to download is supported by your Operating System to avoid error and complication.

Hey, 

Yes, you can have both the versions on the same computer. 

• Install SeaMonkey 2 on your computer.
• Then install a VMware or virtualbox.
• Install another OS on your VMware/virtualbox. This would be your virtual machine.
• Now install SeaMonkey 1.1.18 on your virtual machine.
• In this way, you can simultaneously have both the versions on your system.
