Cannot send message on outlook.

Hi, 

I installed outlook awhile ago, as I was sending a message an error message came up, and I wasn't knowledgeable enough to figure out what happened. Here's the error message.

Cannot send message on outlook.

As what the error said, "One or more parameters are not valid". Mostly, this error comes up if the recipient field is incorrect. You have to make sure that the email address you have saved in your contacts is correct. You might have imported or loaded your contacts from a Microsoft exchange server and that there are missing parameters.

You can replace the email address in your contacts by opening it, right click and open in a new window. Try to add exactly the same email address. Delete the old email address and save the new one. Then in the To: field, add the new contact and send the message.

Cannot send message on outlook.

The most likely problem here is the settings you have used or not configured correctly, for you to be able to send and receive yahoo mails on outlook you are required to configure your settings as follows.

1. Go Tools Menu-Options-Mail Setup. Click on E-mail Accounts.

2. Click on New –next-then select Manually configure.

3. Put your details as follows: User information.

Your Name: XXX.

E-Mail Address: [email protected] (your email address).

4. Server information.

Account Type: IMAP.

Incoming mail server: pop.mail.yahoo.com.

Outgoing mail server : smtp.mail.yahoo.com.

5. Logon Information.

User Name: [email protected] (your email address).

Password: ************** (yahoo password for your account).

Click next –finish.

6. Next step go to Tools-Options-Mail Setup-Email Accounts.

7. Select the account, Click Change-More settings-Advanced tab.

Incoming server must be 465, SSL encryption.

Outgoing server can use 995, SSL encryption.

Click Ok-Next-Finish-Close-OK.

Cannot send message on outlook.

I guess the parameters that is included in the error message means the recipient's email address. Please check if you have typed it correctly or there is no issues with it.

This issue might be because of incorrect email address. I think when sending emails through Outlook, the email address are usually hidden and you can only see the name of the recipient, try typing the email address instead of selecting the name from the list and see if it will work. 

Or you may have a Yahoo account that is not configured correctly in your Outlook.

You may also want to consider downloading the latest version of MDAC.
