Can I stop the files having locked symbol on them?

Hi all,

I changed the user account settings, and this seemed to solve that little glitch.

I then created a batch file, which has automated that task. So that is OK too.

Is there a way I can stop the files having the locked symbol on them?

I look forward to your suggestions.

Thanks.

Actually I am afraid that you cannot do this because it is a system image that the operating system is programmed to put on it when you have  some kind of restriction or admin controls on the file or folder.

What you can do is go to the properties of the folder. Do this as an administrator not a normal user.

Then go to the Change Folder Icon option and choose any other image for the icon of the folder.

Click OK and then click Apply and close the properties. Now see if the image has been changed or not.

Alternatively, what you can do is use the Security feature in the properties properly as it will not cause the lock symbol to appear but will deny any access to the folder as well.
