Is it possible to install a new Windows 2003 DC on a Windows 2000 AD? I want to know how to set up a new Windows Server 2003 R2 on a Windows 2003 AD DC. And what was the requisition on setting up an AD to a new server?
Installing Windows between DC and AD
It is impossible to install windows 2003 DC to the AD setup. Why it is impossible because all the dependencies of both the things are entirely different from each other and they need to be set in a different ways so that the whole system starts working according to your choice.

First you have to backup all your data to a safe place which will not be involved in the process of installation.

After that insert the CD with the 2003 DC in it

Format the drive having the AD setup.

Install the DC using the CD. Just go through the steps with the installation as these are all easy.

Once done, restore the backup to its location and see if there is any component missing.
