Both Windows XP and 7 shows up during startup

I used Windows XP with two partitions (C & D). I used to have the Windows XP OS in drive D. Now, I have installed Windows 7 after formatting Drive D. My problem is that when I start the system, it shows two options: Windows XP and Windows 7.

When I choose Windows XP, it gives me a blank screen and when I choose Windows 7, I am able to go in but I am not able to view Partition C. Drive C is hidden and the computer shows only one partition. I need my files back, which are all in partition C.

Please help me resolve this issue soon.

Thank you.

Windows XP will not startup as you have already formatted it.

Now you only have to work with Window 7. The problem you are facing is common, when few users install windows 7, one of their drives becomes hidden. To unhide the drive there are many software. i will recommend you to use "Partition wizard"

Here is the link to Partition Wizard https://www.partitionwizard.com/download.html

It's easy to use. When open the Partition wizard, you will see both your drives, C & D.

Hi,

If your using dual boot make sure your formatting it the right way. Format drive C: and install windows 7 format D and install windows XP. Or use a 3 party software like partition magic and check the capacity of your Hard disk drive make sure that you have a good amount of storage space on your hard disk drive.
