Best tutorial for WP template – any suggestion?

Recently I'm trying to learn how to make WP template by myself. But I couldn't make a single one work on WP 3.5 so far. So I decided to take help from several WP expert forums. I found many WP template making tutorial but all are lacks in detailed information. I need step by step and explanation of each code used in the template – kind of tutorial. Can anyone help me with that.

Best tutorial for WP template – any suggestion?

Hi,

We'll start with the Header (header.php) and INDEX (index.php). So open your header.php template and enter the following data there :

As a result, we will use the template tags. The template tags are small pieces of code in PHP files cont connect them. This line of code is as follows:

Save your template index.php.

Open the CSS file created earlier and enter the following content: 

You can edit this information by replacing the ones you want. This is particularly the ones that will allow the display of your theme in WordPress administration.
