AVG Antivirus FREE 2013 the installer has encountered an unexpected error

Hi experts,

I have this long setup error when I want to install AVG anti-virus Free 2013. I don’t know why is not working since I have the installer from a trusted source and my PC is up to date. Any solution for this error ? What is causing this ?

I’m not sure what it is you are doing but if you are uninstalling AVG antivirus and it failed, try restarting the computer and try again. If uninstalling the antivirus fails when using the built-in un-installer of the product, uninstall it using the Control Panel. Click Start then Control Panel. Click Add or Remove Programs. Select AVG from the list and uninstall it.

If this method also failed to work then it is possible that the antivirus is incomplete or partially uninstalled because of your previous attempt. If this is the case, the only solution is to install AVG again. Run the installer for AVG 2013 to reinstall the antivirus. It will restore all the default files overwriting any existing ones.

After the installation, uninstall AVG using the Add or Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel. You should be able to uninstall it successfully this time. In case you are installing the free version of AVG 2013, it is best that you install the latest version instead. Download AVG Antivirus 2015.
