I cannot update my AVF antivirus anymore. This error appears every time and until now I didn’t find any solution. I have the original CD and a license for AVG and was expected to work without a problem. Any solution for this error ? Why I cannot update the AVG ?

It does happen on antivirus during the update but not always as in my case unlike yours. In my case, I am using Norton Internet Security and this problem happened to me only once using an early version of NIS. Luckily, Norton provides an option for users to download an offline version of the latest version of the virus definition.
The file is not small if that’s what you are thinking. The offline virus definition is bigger than the antivirus itself but it’s worth downloading. In your case, since you can no longer update your AVG and I think you still have your original setup CD, reinstall AVG antivirus. Uninstall AVG then restart your computer. Next, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then Disk Cleanup.
Select drive C and click OK. Check “Temporary files”, click OK and then click Delete Files. Insert your AVG setup CD on the CD/DVD drive and then run the installer. Once AVG is installed back, try updating it again. It should fix the problem. Also, if you are still using an old version, upgrade your copy to the latest version, AVG AntiVirus Free 2014.
