Hello Acke,

The error message that you're getting: "adlmPITRemoveProductInformation failed" shows a possible corruption in the "ProductInformation.pit" file.

To resolve that issue, you will need to manually remove the file and after that  repeat the installation process.

The following locations is where the "ProductInformation.pit" can be found:

Microsoft Windows XP: C:Documents and settingsAll UsersApplication DataAutodeskADLMProductInformation.pit

Microsoft Windows Vista: C:ProgramDataAutodeskADLMProductInformation.pit

If that does not resolve the issue, then it is more likely that you launched inventor when there is a process that's still running in the background after you close Inventor. So you will need to check in the Task Manager and close that process.

Regards,

Carl

If Autodesk Inventor 2011 is giving you a hard time uninstalling it, try this. Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware. Use the supplied password to unpack then run the installer to install Revo Uninstaller. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then uninstall Autodesk Inventor 2011 from the panel. Follow the instructions to completely uninstall the program and leave no leftover files behind.

Restart the computer afterwards. After booting, open your web browser and go to CCleaner Free then download and install CCleaner. Once installed, start CCleaner and clean your system. See if this works. If it doesn’t and the program still can’t be uninstalled, it is probably caused by a corrupt “ProductInformation.pit” file. The message “adlmPITSetProductInformation failed” indicates a problem in the “ProductInformation.pit” file which is probably corrupted.

To fix the problem, you need to remove the “ProductInformation.pit” file manually. Open Windows Explorer then navigate to “C:Documents and settingsAll UsersApplication DataAutodeskADLM” for Microsoft Windows XP. If you are using Microsoft Windows Vista, navigate to “C:ProgramDataAutodeskADLM”. Next, look for the file “ProductInformation.pit” and either delete it or move it to a different location in your hard drive if you don’t want to delete it.

After this, try uninstalling Autodesk Inventor again. See if this works. If you still can’t uninstall it even after removing the file, try running its installer to reinstall the program over the existing installation. After the installation, try uninstalling again. To register CCleaner, download CCleaner Registration Codes. Use the supplied password to unpack. Open “license-keys_readme.txt” with Notepad and follow the instructions to register CCleaner.
