Hi there,

Cannot open map documents in ArcGIS Desktop 9.3 that were saved in ArcGIS Desktop 9.2? On the Internet I found that they are compatible with each other and it seems like I am the only one with this error. Does anyone have any solution ?

Thanks !

First of all you need to check the virtual memory that should be at least 4GB.

Now do the steps below to fix the problem.

  • For print, set the higher output image quality, not normal
  • For page set up the output image quality should be normal.
  • Set large dpi value for TIFF export format, because in this way the "TIFF export file" shows exponential growth.
  • Rename files and directory where you have saved the files, the name and path should be without space.
  • Or move the files that have space in names, to the locations that have path with no space.
  • Check all extensions, that you have referred, are saved properly according to ArcMap requirements.
