Arcmap fails to open files due to memory error

Hi there,

ArcMap shows this error when I want to export some files. I don’t know why is saying that I don’t have enough memory because I have 4GB RAM. Can anyone help me please to fix this error ? What is causing this error ?

Do the following steps to fix this error:

  1. Change the "output size limit settings" in the registry.
  2. It will generate temporary meta file.
  3. Simplify and generalize the map data. 
  4. Generate the new for layout by using "Arc tool box."
  5. Now reduce the quality of raster layers.
  6. In Windows operating system , increase the virtual memory.
  7. Reboot the computer. (all applications should be closed)
  8. Now open MXD document and export it.
  9. In this way you can export the map successfully.
